Frequently Asked Questions

We have currently reduced our breeding ewe count to 34 ewes as we continue to transition the majority of our flock to registered sheep.
We currently have 17 commercial ewes and 17 registered ewes.

We turn our rams in with the ewes in late August. This puts us on track to start lambing in early January. This year, as a trial run, we also bred 6 ewes for fall lambing. These girls are scheduled to deliver in early September.
Lambs are typically finished and ready for new pasture around the middle of May. Keep a check on our website as well as our social media pages for updates about when the lambs will be available and how many we are offering.

Yes. We vaccinate the ewes for CD&T approximately four weeks before lambing. Then all lambs are vaccinated at approximately 60 days for CD&T and Pasteurella. Both shots are given in two rounds. A primary round is given and then 4 weeks later a booster.

We are FAMACHA certified and only selectively deworm our flock to prevent dewormer resistance among our worm load.
We have been very selective over the past several years to build a hardy, parasite resistant flock and we have very few issues with worms.
If we do have to deworm a sheep we use Prohibit.

Yes. We will complete the necessary forms and return them to the KHSI to ensure the transfer of ownership takes place. A new pedigree should arrive in the mail for the new owners.
If buying a yearling registered lamb off the farm, we will complete the registration in the new owners name and have the pedigree sent to the new owners address.

Yes. This is something new that we are going to start requiring going forward. We will require a $100 dollar deposit to secure your spot in line for lamb selection. We will make a post on our social media and this website when we are ready to start taking deposits. This will not be an additional fee. The $100 will be subtracted from the final purchase total.
Additionally there is no minimum purchase to require a deposit.... whether you are buying 1 sheep or all our lambs, the deposit will be the same.

For commercial ewe lambs we charge $225
For select commercial ram lambs we charge $250
Please contact us for information regarding the pricing of our registered sheep. Some of our registered lambs will be offered off the farm for sale while others will be selected for auctions.
*Select means these are the best of the best! Not every lamb should be registered. Only our best will be offered as registered ewes or rams.
